Before making your appointment, please review this information

Riley County Extension VITA is supported by the KONZA United Way and the Caroline Peine Foundation

We can prepare tax returns for:

• Active-duty military
• Low to moderate income households
• Retired, including both military and non-military

We cannot prepare tax returns for:

• Small businesses
• International students
• Non-Residents without a valid social security card
• Returns that are deemed to be more complicated than a VITA site can accurately prepare

We will prepare your Federal Income Tax return and associated state returns. We also prepare Homestead and/or property tax relief for Kansas residents that qualify. We file returns electronically.

What must you bring to the VITA site:

• Social security card(s) and/or previously filed tax return showing the entire social security number for every person included on the tax return
• Printed copies of documents used for your tax return
• Valid photo ID for taxpayers, not required for dependents
• Banking institution name, routing number and account number (this information is not on debit cards)
• Are you claiming an overtime deduction? Bring your last pay stub from 2025
• Are you claiming a deduction for tips? You will need to consider cash tips as well as tips indicated on your W-2
